Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic

The Public Works Academy (PWA) provides Maintenance of Traffic/Temporary Traffic Control courses at Pinellas Technical College – St. Petersburg at at other locations as requested. PWA is a provider authorized by the Florida Department of Transportation to be a provider of the Basic, Intermediate, Advanced Maintenance of Traffic courses and their refreshers.
Please bring an official photo ID to be allowed to take the exam. A DL and email address is required to take the test.
Certificates and Wallet Cards
Certificates and Wallet Cards are valid for four (4) years from the ending date of the class session. No certificates or wallet cards will be available at the class session. A certificate and wallet card will be sent to the participants who have paid their course fee and have successfully passed the exam. Any participant who does not achieve a passing score of 70% or higher will receive a letter indicating such. We ask you to allow up to two (2) weeks for your results to arrive at the email address you provided at the time of registration. You can verify a certificate by clicking here.
The Public Works Academy is an approved provider for the Florida Department of Transportation Intermdiate Maintenance of Traffic course.
This course is required for all persons with duties that include any of the following activities:
Direct responsibility for placement of work zone traffic control devices; Direct responsibility for field maintenance of work zone traffic control devices; Inspection of the placement or operational function of work zone traffic control devices and/or Drafting or electronic generation of work zone traffic control plans.
